Kaya Daluwatte shines at DFCC Faldo Junior Tour Faldo Golf Series
View(s):Top favourites and stable performers Kaya Daluwatte and Reshan Algama took the centre stage at the DFCC Faldo Junior Tour Faldo Series Sri Lanka 2026, which concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) in Colombo last weekend.

Kaya emerged as the Overall Champion as well as the Girls’ Champion, for competitors of the age group of 17 to 21, while Reshan claimed the Boys’ title for the age group of 17 to 21. With a close and thrilling finish, Kaya and Reshan were tied at eight under par after three days of intense rivalry. With the Overall Championship decider falling on to the scorecard countback, Kaya held a slight edge against Reshan to crown herself as the Overall Champion of the Faldo Series Sri Lanka 2026.
Reshan Algama won the Boy’s title with an impressive gross score of 205, following his defining course record of 63, which came on the second day. Kaya finished behind on 208 gross, as she secured the Girl’s title, while setting up a thrilling playoff for the Overall title. Following behind at third was K. Dhanushan, who had a 212 gross score, as Rayan Ahmed and Nirekh Tejwani were declared joint fourth with 219 gross each.
The age group of 13 to 16 was led by India’s Vivaan Ubhayakar, who took the Boy’s Division with an impressive 215 gross, followed by compatriot Karmanye Mahajan, who finished runner-up on 222. Sri Lanka’s Adhithya Weerasinghe finished at third with 229 gross. Mira Bisneer Agrawal of India emerged the Girl’s Division champion with 258 gross, pushing behind Lorence Sithara Dedunu to second with 267 gross.
A steady and impressive performance by Syed Mahdi Mahbeer of Bangladesh paved him the path to win the Boy’s title for Age Group of 11 and 12 with 98 gross, India’s Vivaan Singh finished as the runner-up with 105. Vihara Herath claimed the Girl’s Division title with 133, with Dulkini Subanya Kangara ending up second on 141.
Reshan Algama
Ayra Athar Yasin of Pakistan won the Girl’s Division in the Age Group 9-10 with an impressive 109 pushing Aashna Amonha of India to the runner-up positrion, as local talent Abiman Abeyawardena secured the Boy’s Division with 115, forcing Jayith Minhas Guruge to the second place. Kyra Cader won the Girl’s Division of the Age Group 7-8 with 161, while Onith Ometh Thangarajah emerged the Boy’s Division winner with 139, after securing a countback against Rahein Manathunga.
The DFCC Bank Faldo Junior Golf Tournament and Pro-Am, a platform to showcase young talent and to engage DFCC Bank’s premium clientele in a meaningful sporting experience, attracted 110 participants in its debut season in 2025. Established in 1996 by the legendary six-time Major champion, Sir Nick Faldo, the Faldo Series continues to be one of the world’s most respected junior golf platforms. With more than 7,000 participants annually and a footprint spanning over 28 countries, the series has earned a reputation as the premier training ground for developing elite golfing talent. Its presence in Sri Lanka marks a significant step in positioning the country as an emerging destination for international junior golf.
This collaboration between DFCC Bank and RCGC reflects a shared ambition to identify talent beyond traditional centres and to create pathways for golfers from across the island to shine internationally.
