Ilango in Estonian film fest Jury

Ilango Ram, the director of the blockbuster film ‘Nelum Kuluna’ (Tentigo) was appointed as a Jury member of Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia. Classified as an ‘A’ list film festival accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Association-Federación Internacional de Asociaciones de Profesores de Español (FIAPF), the festival completed its 29th edition in Tallinn, Estonia last week.
Sri Lankan film director Ilango Ram, who’s known for his blockbuster film, ‘Nelum Kuluna’ (Tentigo) was appointed to serve on the official First Feature Competition Jury at this year’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival held from November 7 to 23. This is especially significant as Ilango Ram’s debut film Nelum Kuluna competed in Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2023 and was awarded the Special Jury Prize. The invitation in 2025 by the Estonian film festival organisers is a remarkable achievement for talented filmmaker.

Ilango Ram also becomes the first Sri Lankan to serve in the jury at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival after it was recognised as an A-list film festival by FIAPF, marking a noteworthy moment in the festival’s history.
