The Presidential media awards 2025 organised by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media was held this week at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre.

Daily and Sunday Lankadeepa former Chief Editor Siri Ranasinghe was among former editors, senior journalists as well as veterans in the media field who were recognised for their contribution to the media.

Professor Sunanda Mahendra, Shan Wickremesinghe, B.H. Abdul Hameed and Lalitha Siribaddana were also recognised for services to the print media, television, radio as well as for the promotion of children’s programmes.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was the Chief Guest at the event.
