The Early Childhood Educator Summit 2025, jointly organised by the Early Childhood Educators Association, Lyceum Campus, and Pearson, was held on September 11th at the BMICH under the inspiring theme, “Reimagining Early Learning: Innovation, Impact & Intentionality.” The summit brought together early childhood professionals, education leaders, and policymakers to exchange ideas on transforming early learning in Sri Lanka through innovative, purposeful, and impactful practices.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Stephen Lodziak, International Skills and Development Advisor, shared global insights on advancing early learning practices. His presentation emphasised the importance of innovation in classrooms, the impact of strong partnerships with families, and the need for intentional approaches in nurturing young learners.

Other distinguished speakers included Dr. Dhanajaya Perera, Deputy National Director, SOS Children’s Village Sri Lanka, who presented “Leadership with Intent: Empowering Educators to Drive Change,” inspiring educators to become transformative leaders, and Dr. Prabath Karunanayake, Medical Doctor, Director HR, and Lecturer, who explored “If We Could Begin Again: A Different Perspective on Early Childhood Education,” encouraging educators to rethink standard practices and promote progressive child development.

A key highlight of the summit was a panel discussion featuring students from preschool to upper school, providing genuine insights into learning spaces and emotional growth. Their voices underscored the importance of including learners in shaping education.

The summit also provided early childhood teachers across Sri Lanka with a valuable platform to expand professional networks, share best practices, update their knowledge, and upgrade their skills, equipping them to meet the evolving needs of young learners.

Through this initiative, Lyceum Campus and Pearson renewed their commitment to advancing Early Childhood Education in Sri Lanka by supporting teachers, fostering collaboration, and helping children build strong foundations for learning and future success. By bringing educators together under one vision, the summit reaffirmed the commitment to uplifting teachers, reimagining learning experiences, and ensuring brighter beginnings for the nation’s youngest learners.
