Government to fast-track accreditation for university graduates
View(s):The government plans to expedite the process of issuing Certificates of Accreditation by the Surveyor General for graduates of local universities who graduate from related fields, Deputy Minister of Education Madhura Senevirathna said.
A large number of students who have graduated in survey related subjects have not been given the necessary accreditation for them to get employment, he said.
Course syllabuses need to be changed to keep up with evolving roles and made more comprehensive, he added.
Talks will be held with the Surveyor General and other related authorities to see how the accreditation process can be expedited, as well as see if there are legal impediments to expediting the process, the deputy minister said.
