This distinguished ceremony marks yet another proud milestone in the illustrious journey of Isipathana College, as we celebrate 73 years of excellence in education and character formation. Since its inception, the Isipathana College has stood as a beacon of knowledge, discipline and leadership producing generations of outstanding teachers, eminent scholars, visionary business leaders, valiant heroes and distinguished alumni who have made remarkable contributions both in the government service and in the private sector.
This year’s ceremony was held in commemoration of the outstanding scholars of the year 2024, whose dedication perseverance and academic brilliance bring to the alma mater. The prize giving was held at the Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall to honour their achievements and to inspire future generations to follow in their footsteps, which was organised by the college recently.
An institution that has consistently upheld national and religious integrity, showing equal respects to all faith, races and cultures, Isipathana College has nurtured and produced well-balanced personalities, who have contributed with distinction to the nation and the world. It continues to stand firm as a centre of learning, widely recognised among the academic dons in the island, while also earning a reputation as a school of sporting excellence, equally competent in the sphere of co-curricular activities

The performance at the Grade 5 scholarship examination served as a significant indicator of the strength of our Primary Section in 2024, as the school recorded one of its most outstanding results in recent history. Isipathana also achieved the best results among schools in Colombo South with an 89.93 percent of students scoring above 70 marks.
In the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination, 334 students sat, out of which 309 were eligible for the G.C.E. Advanced Level, a success rate of 92.5 percent among them. Thirty (30) students achieved nine A passes, 23 students achieved eight A passes, seven students achieved seven A passes, 12 achieved six As with 21 students achieving 5 As.
Minister of the Justice and Integration, Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara, an old boy of Isipathana College graced the event as chief guest, while Professor Rahula Attalage, another illustrious old boy, a distinguished academic and administrator in the field of Engineering and Higher Education, who currently serves as the Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic) at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, attended the event as guest of honour,.
