Python saved by act of compassion

A reptile that was brought in from Bokkawala in the Kandy District by a monk has recovered after an operation performed by Dr. Shasila Gamage of the University of Peradeniya Veterinary Hosptial. The operation was done to remove a cyst on the head of a Python that was in pain. The monk had seen the suffering animal and brought it in.
Dr. Gamage said the python is to be released to the Randenigala forest reserve.
