Mr. Ekanayake has been directed to report to the CID tomorrow to make a statement regarding former President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s visit to UK, and the allegation of misusing state funds for the visit.
A further statement is due to be recorded from Mr Ekanayake.
The Sunday Times learns that Mr. Ekanayake is to present further confirmation on what has been described as the invitation sent by the University of Wolverhampton to the former president, disputing that it was ‘a fabricated’ one.
