Over 400 entries from 254 teams are set to participate in the Yeti All-Island Inter-Schools Individual and Team Tennis Tournament, which began at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts in Green Path, Colombo.

The tournament will be played for the Arjan Perera Memorial Trophy for the 15th year with competitors from 60 schools from across all nine provinces set to showcase the very best of school-level tennis in Sri Lanka. Several schools will be making their first appearance at this year’s tournament, including The British School in Colombo, Royal English School, Matale and Al Huda College, Kurunegala.

The tournament will see individual and team events played over several days, giving young tennis stars from different corners of the island a valuable platform to showcase their talent. The opening ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including SLTA President Iqbal Bin Issack, Dr. Dilshan Balasuriya (Director, Yeti), Nisheli Perera (Director, YETI), Malik Perera (CEO, Yeti), N.P.M. Bazreen (Manager, AMCOM), Pradeep Goonasekara (Secretary, SLTA), Rukmal Cooray (Vice President, SLTA), Arjun Fernando and Anupa Mathamagoda (Head of Tennis Development, SLTA), led by the Western band of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya.
