In celebration of their 10th anniversary, Colombo Kickerz Football Academy will collaborate with Juventus FC to host a five-day training camp in Colombo. Aptly named the Juventus Training Camp in Colombo, the programme will commence tomorrow, 7 July, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Racecourse Ground and will run daily until Friday, 11 July.

Head Coach Fabio Cucciniello, along with Coaches Miguelangel Della Vecchia and Giovanni Giacomini, will lead the Juventus Training Camp. Conducted in partnership with the world-renowned Juventus Academy, the camp is expected to bring top-tier European coaching expertise directly to young Sri Lankan footballers. Participants will have a unique opportunity to train under UEFA-certified coaches who follow and adhere to the proven Juventus methodology, focusing on skill development, tactical awareness, and teamwork.

“We operate similar training programmes in other parts of the world, but this marks the first time Juventus is setting foot in Sri Lanka. We are aware of the colonial influence in the promotion of football here, and this will be a great opportunity for us to discover Sri Lankan talent and impart the Juventus methodology,” said Fabio Cucciniello, one of the three technical staff members from Juventus.

Young footballers across Sri Lanka stand to benefit from the Juventus Training Camp—an initiative with the potential to deliver long-term gains. Initially launched as a pilot project, both Juventus and Colombo Kickerz are keen to develop it into a continuous programme that nurtures Sri Lankan football talent in a more professional and systematic manner.

“It has been an incredible journey over the past decade, and we are thrilled to mark our 10th anniversary by bringing down international experts to conduct this training camp in Colombo. The camp, together with our new digital platform, is sure to set the stage for an exciting new era in football development in Sri Lanka,” said Viveca Weerasinghe, the Founder and Chairperson of Colombo Kickerz.

The Juventus Training Camp will also provide insights into the professional and time-tested Juventus methodology—a philosophy that has driven Juventus FC to success in competitions such as Serie A, the Intercontinental Cup, European Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Intertoto Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup, currently underway.

“This partnership was initiated while I was attending a sports management training programme in Barcelona a few months ago. What began as a friendly conversation eventually materialised after months of hard work and discussions between Colombo Kickerz FA and the Juventus Academy. I am truly thrilled to be part of a landmark project that will benefit football in Sri Lanka,” said Romario de Silva, CEO of Colombo Kickerz FA.

As part of their 10th anniversary celebrations, Colombo Kickerz has also launched its official mobile app, designed to simplify communication, registrations, payments, scheduling, and updates for academy members and parents.
