Gov to provide foreign university scholarships for A/L students
View(s):The cabinet has approved a scholarship scheme for top-ranked GCE A/L students to pursue a degree at foreign universities.
Rs 200 million has been allocated in the 2025 Budget for the programme, aimed at students with the highest Z-scores in main subject streams.
Scholarships will be offered for a maximum of four years at universities ranked within the top 500 globally, that offer English-medium programmes.
Under the first phase, 20 to 50 students will be selected in 2025. The final selection will be made by an expert panel of university professors
and doctors.
