Immunoglobulin case: Indictments to be served on Keheliya and 11 others on July 11

The Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar has issued notices on 12 accused including former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella to appear in court on July 11 regarding the case filed against them for criminal misappropriation of nearly Rs. 144 million over the importation of counterfeit human immunoglobulin vials.
Indictments filed against the accused are to be served when they appear in court on this date.
The Department of Government Printing has presented an estimate of Rs. 1.6 million for printing the documents that are to be submitted along with the indictments served on the accused.
Aside from Mr. Rambukwella, the other accused who are to be served indictments are pharmaceutical supplier Sudath Janaka Fernando, Director of the Health Ministry’s Medical Supplies Division (MSD) Kapila Wickramanayake, the MSD’s Assistant Director Devashantha Solomon, member of the Imported Medicines Evaluation Committee Niran Dhananjaya, the MSD’s Auditor Sujith Wasantha Kumara, former Health Ministry Secretary Janaka Sri Chandraguptha, Dharmasiri Rathnakumara Herath, B.L.D. Jayanath, Saman Kusumsiri Rathnayake,
Thusitha Sudarshana and Vijith Ranasinghe Gunasekara.
