Schoolboy and uncle killed in fertiliser lorry accident

Two persons including a 15-year-old boy were killed when a lorry carrying fertiliser rammed into their parked vehicle in the Norochcholai area yesterday, Police said.
Two others were seriously injured in the accident, while 10 others including the lorry driver were also injured.
A Grade 10 student from Dungalpitiya, Kavisha Tennakoon and his uncle Ranasinhage Michael (72) were killed in the accident.
The van was on its way to the Thalawila Church.
The van driver had stopped the vehicle to adjust the hoodrack when the lorry heading in the same direction crashed into the van.
The van had been pushed away for about 100 metres.
Norochcholai Police is investigating.
