Library conference sees e-book launch

An e-book launch was made at the first International Conference on Library and Information Science held at the Diamond Jubilee Hall of the University of Peradeniya yesterday.
Vice Chancellor Professor Terrance Mudhujith launched the e-book with Dr Rasiah Maheswaran, the Chief Librarian of the University, in the chair.
The guest speaker was Prof. Liyanage Amarakeethi, and the guest of honour was Rev. Dr (snr) Isabella Rajaskumari of Bharathidasan University, India.
The keynote address was delivered by Professor R. Balasubramaniam from Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu, India.
The two-day conference was attended by 70 international participants from India, Nepal, Nigeria and the Maldives.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Terrance Madujith, Dr Preethi Liyanage, President of the Sri Lanka Library Association, Dr. Rasiah Maheswaran, and Dr Rev Isabella Rajamurmai are seen at the launch of the e-book.
