Scholarships to study in Azerbaijan
View(s):The Republic of Azerbaijan had invited eligible Lankan applicants to award 3 undergraduate/postgraduate (Master’s/PhD) scholarships offered under the ‘Heydar Aliyev – International Education Grant Programme’ for the academic year 2025/26.
Undergraduate applicants should be below 35 years of age as of September 15, 2025, and should have language proficiency of IELTS 5 (TOEFL40).
Masters applicants should be below 40 years as of September 15, 2025, and should have language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 (TOEFL 50).
PhD applicants should be below 45 years of age as of September 15, 2025 and should have language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 (TOEFL 50).
Applicants’ language of study of previous education must be English, and they should be in good health and ready to live in Azerbaijan during the period of study.

Undergraduate students are advised not to apply for medical-related degree programmes in Azerbaijan universities, as they are not recognised by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
More information on the programme could be obtained by visiting the higher education ministry. Applicants should submit separate Google forms for undergraduate, Master’s and PhD scholarships.
The Google form submission deadline is April, 23.
