SAB Campus Gavel Club Celebrates Charter Installation and Executive Committee Induction at CA Sri Lanka
View(s):The SAB Campus Gavel Club celebrated a major milestone with its Charter Installation Ceremony, held on 24 April 2025 at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka). The event marked the official registration of the first-ever Gavel Club at SAB Campus, launched with 35 undergraduate charter members.
The charter installation was graced by the distinguished presence of Mr. Tishan Subasinghe, Vice President of CA Sri Lanka, and Ms. Lakmali Priyangika, CEO of CA Sri Lanka, alongside other esteemed guests, Toastmasters representatives, representatives from other Gavel Clubs, and members of the academic and administrative communities.
The club aims to provide SAB undergraduates with a structured and supportive platform to develop essential soft skills, including public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership.
A key highlight of the event was the formal induction of the inaugural Executive Committee of the SAB Campus Gavel Club comprising of:

The newly appointed committee members took their oaths with enthusiasm and a collective commitment to fostering a culture of effective communication, leadership, and continuous personal development within the club.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Subasinghe commended the initiative, stating “Initiatives like The SAB Campus Gavel Club not only enhance communication skills but also build the leadership pipeline for the future”.
The ceremony also included the official presentation of the charter, motivational addresses by the Club Mentor, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Farhaz Farouk. With the induction of its Executive Committee, the SAB Campus Gavel Club is now set to commence regular sessions focused on speech development, constructive feedback, and leadership training.
