National Conference: 4-day Workshop; Day 1: Achieving Health and Wellness for Sustainable Development: Role of Health Sector PolicyMakers
View(s):The workshop on, “Achieving health and wellness for Sustainable Development: Role of Health Sector Policy Makers”, of the National Conference on “The Role of Chemists in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” organised by the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon was successfully held at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute (HARTI), Colombo on 1st June 2023. The Director General of Health Services Dr Asela Gunawardhene delivered an informative keynote address on achieving health and wellness for sustainable development.
The guest lectures were delivered by Prof Renuka Silva, Professor of Nutrition, Dept of Applied Nutrition, Wayamba University Sri Lanka, Mr P G Krishantha Silva, Head, Information, Education, Research, Training, and Pharmacovigilance Regulatory Division, National Medical Regulatory Authority, Prof P A Paranagama, Chair & Senior Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Kelaniya and Dr Menuka Arawwawala, Director Pharmaceuticals Laboratory, Industrial Technology Institute. The panel discussion was conducted by Ms Visakha Tillekeratne, National Project Coordinator, FAO and Project Director, Scaling Up Nutrition People’s Forum Sri Lanka was concluded with remarkable proposals to be implemented in policy decisions.
