Dialog brings tuition to your computer screen in the living room

Dialog Axiata PLC has introduced eTeacher, a web based education portal which allows subscribers to follow tuition classes conducted by popular lecturers via the web from any place at anytime, without the hassle of travelling during peak traffic times.

A media statement by the company said the eTeacher web based education portal can be accessed by subscribers who have access to the web. However Dialog customers who have access to Dialog mobile broad band get the additional benefit of using the service without being charged for the amount of data streamed during the promotional period.

"By using eTeacher students don't have to sacrifice sports practices and extracurricular activities due to tuition classes as the on demand video lectures are available 24/7, 365 days of the year for reference. The portal will also help students and parents to cut down on travel time during peak traffic times during late evenings," it said.

Dialog said the portal would also save time and money for students who normally would have to travel to city and town centres to attend tuition classes. These online classes would also be competitively priced than attending a live lecture and can be viewed from a location of your choice. Year 5 scholarship examination, Mathematics, Science, Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Sinhala, Tamil, English, Business Studies and Law Entrance would be amongst the courses that would be made available on the eTeacher online educational portal.

The eTeacher lecture panel would include popular tuition lectures such as Upul Shantha Sannasgala, Ajith Nandalal, S.S. Ananthan, K. Kalharan, M. Rajapakse, Sanjeewa Dharmawardhana, Danushka Medawatte, Rakitha Jayathunga, K. Sothilingam, S. Premnath, T. Rajaratnam, K. K. Uthyakumar, M. R. Fahumdeen, K. Kalaichellvan, Imran Hasheem and Dillion Anthonys.
