‘Kandy Spice Food Festival 2010’

Final phase of the ‘Kandy Spice Food Festival 2010’ will starts today at the Kandy City Centre from 11.0am to 11.00pm.

Culinary skills of some of the best master chefs from Kandy / Nuwara-Eliya’s reputed hotels came to the limelight at the Kandy’s largest food extravaganza – ‘Kandy Spice Food Festival 2010’ from 24 September onwards.

‘Kandy Spice Food Festival 2010’ , the annual event will be hosted by the Kandy Hoteliers' Association in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

This festival will be an ideal opportunity for both Sri Lankans and Tourists who are in Sri Lanka to enjoy a variety of delectable cuisines ranging from Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mongolian, Arabic, Italian and Sri Lankan specialties.

The spectacular highlight, which will bring a distinct flavour to the festival, is the Spice Food Village. Eighteen Kandy-Nuwara Eliya-based hotels participate at this Food Village with a number of top chefs specializing in various cuisines of the world.

Today’s highlight of the event will be scheduled to take place from 10.30 am at the City Centre allowing visitors the opportunity to sample food from around the city at a range of food stalls. Furthermore, the event will take on a festive air with live music, fire works and closing ceremony along with live bands with Sirasa & Yes FM Super Stars to create a truly unforgettable dining experience for the whole family.

The Kandy Hoteliers' Association in collaboration with Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority together with HSBC, , Ma’s Tropical Food, Elephant House, Norfolk,Uniwalkers, Mehendi by Farahath, Daily Mirror, TV Times, Sirasa and YES FM among others .supported the event.
