Volleyball Federationmaps out future plans

The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVBF) is going all out to maintain its status as the national sport by announcing its international competitions for the rest of the year.

The 15th Asian junior women’s volleyball championships will be held from September 12 to 20 in Vietnam and team selections will take place on June 2. Prasanna Kalutarage, Vice President of the SLVBF has already been appointed as the Manager of this team. Currently he is overseeing all arrangements regarding the pool.

The 15th Asian Junior men’s volleyball championships are to be held in Thailand from September 1 to 10 and team selections will be done on June 1. Upali Hewage is the Manager of the team and he is in charge of the arrangements for this tour.According to the President of the SLVB, strong teams will be sent to the Asian Beach Games to be held in September and for the 16th Asian Games in China (December).

Arrangements are also afoot to send six qualified coaches for the International Seminar conducted by the FIVBA in early June. This seminar is to be held in India.
