ICTA responds to cyberspace story

Responding to a news item titled “Campaign gets dirty in Cyberspace”, published in the Sunday times of January 17, Information and Communication Technoloy Agency (ICTA) says:

“ICTA wishes to categorically state that as the apex ICTA policy organization and as the implementer of the multi donor funded eSri Lanka Development Programme, it has never engaged in cyberspace propaganda activities referred to in the article, quoting MP Vijitha Herath.

“ICTA wishes to point out that its development activities and technology related functions, as well as finances, have been subject to regular internal and external audits by multiple sources and could categorically state that no scurrilous emails and digital manipulation of documents or any other cyberspace propaganda activities, connected with the presidential election, have been conducted using ICTA facilities.”
