“SANA”slams door on ICL speculations  

The World’s most capped one day player Sanath Jayasuriya virtually slammed the door on the controversial Indian Cricket League (ICL) and ended all speculation of his participation when he re- confirmed his priorities with his employer Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).

 
Atapattu packs bags to South Africa
Former Sri Lanka skipper Marvan Atapattu who was hounded into submission by the Lankan selectors and later took the drastic step of severing his contract with Sri Lanka Cricket has chosen to continue his cricket career in South Africa. Earlier Atapattu’s name was prominently tagged with the Indian runaway group – the ICL. Now it seems that the stylish batsman has decided otherwise.

The word nostalgia cuts a special niche in the buildup of the current civilisation. The craving of mundane people to remember the occurrences of the past and the men who made it all possible and at the same time the lightness that comes into the hearts of those very people who knowingly or unknowingly were a part of that moment when history was created.
 
One set of jerseys, shared boots...
They have one set of jerseys. Boots are shared amongst themselves as is food. They do not have a proper ground to practice on. There is no gymnasium, no scrum machines, no body protection gear and none of the luxuries that most Colombo schools enjoy. What they do have is a great sense of team spirit and the determination to succeed against all odds.
