Geeth ton puts Saracens on top

Under 23 Cricket

A fine knock of 125 with 19 boundaries by Geeth Alwis helped Saracens to make a formidable 265 against SSC on day one of their Under 23 encounter played at the SSC grounds. The late order batting of Saracens failed to take the initiative given by Alwis who had put them in a strong position with the score of 208 for 2 in between the lunch and tea break. Some rash batting saw them lose their remaining eight wickets for just 57 runs.

But they had the SSC in a spot of bother by capturing two wickets for 17 runs before play was stopped due to rain. The match will be continued at 10.00 a.m. today.
