These are men from Sri Lanka Navy’s elite Special Boat Squadron (SBS) equivalent of the Army’s commandos. This specialized unit has become a fully-fledged arm of the Sri Lanka Navy and are equal to any of their counterparts in the world says its commander, Vice Admiral Daya Sandagiri. Somewhere on the shores of the Dockyard, home for the Navy’s Eastern Naval Area Headquarters, men from the SBS demonstrated their skills.
