Sri Lanka’s first Virtual Oratory Competition

Sri Lanka’s first  Virtual Oratory Competition organised by Dharma Voices for Animals Organisation was held recently and around 250 students from more than 100 schools in the country participated in the first round of the competition which was organised in both Sinhala and English medium under the theme ‘Owners of the Earth’.

50 students were shortlisted for the final round bu the jury and  20 students from both Sinhala and English medium were selected as winners.

The two students who won the first place in the competition were awarded a cash prize of Lkr 25,000 each while the 1st Runner-up in both mediums received Lkr 15,000 each and the 2nd Runner-up received Lkr 10,000 each. Cash prizes and certificates were also awarded to other 14 winners.

The finals were held under the title, ‘The importance of an Animal Welfare Bill to Sri Lanka?’ and the objective of this competition was to provide future generations with awareness and knowledge in order to create a country free from animal cruelty.
