With the end of a transformative 2020, Rainbow Institute of Communication looks   forward to 2021  with optimism and strength.

One thing we know for certain is that the ‘new normal’, we adapted to in 2020, will guide us to 2021. While we all wish for a more prosperous 2021, devoid of the global challenges that ravaged the world in 2020, we need to take account of the lessons learnt that will steer the new year.

Unprecedented changes such as social distancing, constant sanitizing and being undressed without a mask will lead the way to 2021. Other changes such as work from home, Zoom or Microsoft meetings and online education will also be here to stay.

SELF IMPROVEMENT FOR A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR

Spending time with family instead of friends became the norm. We relearnt the importance of home and the comfort of a home cooked meal. Technology became interwoven into our day-to-day existence.

However, in the midst of all these changes, extraordinary challenges also arose such as the decline of the job market, as organizations closed and downsized. It has become more competitive to succeed in the ‘new normal’, and new skills are essential for survival.

VIRTUAL COMMUNICATION AND SOFT SKILLS

While sitting in front of a screen from home or from a socially accepted distance from colleagues, it is still essential to present the best version of yourself.

Your screen persona and written communication have risen in importance as it showcases you. It depicts your personality and now you can control how you wish to be seen. Business communication is essential as punctuation, grammar and spelling create the first impression we are now judged by. Public speaking and presentation skills have evolved to online presentations and virtual public speaking.

Being camera shy isn’t an option anymore. Similarly, office attire has evolved as grooming and etiquette for the pandemic and post pandemic era has inspired the birth of new trends.

NEW ERA FOR
RAINBOW INSTITUTE

Started as a social enterprise   in November, 2010, by the Mendis Family – Dr. Mahim, Manique and Mahishka, Rainbow Institute is blessed to celebrate 10 years in fulfilling its mission to empower Sri Lankans with Communication, English and soft skills on par with international benchmarks.

It has been a journey full of experience and challenges, including rising above political turmoil and the pandemic.  As in life, change is the only constant.  Rainbow too has had to change and adapt to survive and thrive.

We are delighted to mark our 10th anniversary, with relocation to  new premises at No 30, Amarasekera Mawatha, Colombo 05.  Our new premises are airy and spacious and well equipped,   to meet the Covid-19 prevention health regulations.

TRAINING ONLINE AND THOUGH PHYSICAL CLASSROOMS

However, the spacious and bright new premises were not the only significant change that the 10th anniversary and 2020 brought to Rainbow. It was the transition from physical location to a virtual education space.

Over the years, Rainbow has had centers throughout the island, from Jaffna to Galle. However, with the transition to online learning, we are now equipped to deliver a host of courses for the pandemic and post pandemic era.

Our highly sought after training is now delivered through   physical  class rooms  and virtually.  Our training includes business communication and public speaking, English IELTS  and soft skills  for children youth and adults,  providing a life changing experience to  our learners  to gain a cutting edge to stand out in any environment.

We ensure personalized individual training through small group classes, individual coaching and corporate training.  We are honored to have a large number of top companies, SMEs and Embassies amongst our clientele.
