Unveiling of the plaque of Past Presidents

Chemical society of Ceylon was established in 1941. In 1972, with the act of Parliament No. 15 of 1972 it became the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon.

To honor the hard work done by the presidents for the betterment of the Institute, a plaque bearing the names of all past presidents of the chemical society and Institute of Chemistry Ceylon was mounted in the foyer of the ‘Admantane House’, the headquarters of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon.

On Friday September 4th at 3.30 pm, chief guest Prof. Tuley De Silva, chancellor of University of Wayamba (Past President) unveiled the plaque in the presence of past presidents and council members of the institute.

Current president of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, Prof. Sagarika Ekanayake thanked the chief guest and the past presidents for their yeoman service rendered to the Institute during their period of presidency. The day ended with proceedings of the first council meeting for the year 2021.
