Over 10,000 students sit for CA Sri Lanka’s Business Level examinations

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) successfully conducted the Business Level I & II examinations with an impressive number of students sitting for the exams which was held in August and September.

Incidentally, CA Sri Lanka was among the first professional institutes in the country to physically conduct an examination successfully following COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown.

CA Sri Lanka enforced stringent health regulations and other necessary measures to ensure the safety of the over 10,000 students who sat for the exams conducted at 11 examination centres islandwide.

The Business Level I & II exams were conducted in Colombo, Galle, Kandy, Kurunegala, Jaffna, Anuradhapura, Kalmunai, Ratnapura and Bandarawela. The examination was originally to be conducted in March; however, the Institute was compelled to postpone the exams on the orders of the Health Authorities following the COVID-19 outbreak and the lockdown.

Annually, CA Sri Lanka conducts four exams in total, two exams for the Business Level and two exams for the Corporate and Strategic Levels. The Corporate and Strategic Level exams is scheduled to be held on 18th, 24th and 25th October 2020.

The second round of the Business Level I exam which was originally to be held this month has now been scheduled to be held on 05th and 06th December 2020, while the Business Level II exam will be held on 12th and 13th December.

CA Sri Lanka also enjoys numerous agreements with leading internationally reputed accounting bodies including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ), CPA Ireland, CPA Australia and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) which paves way for CA Sri Lanka qualified Chartered Accountants to enjoy greater mobility across any part of the globe.

CA Sri Lanka is also the only professional body in the country to offer a dual membership pathway simultaneously with ICAEW for the benefit of its students following the CA Sri Lanka programme. To obtain the dual membership from CA Sri Lanka and ICAEW, students must complete 2 out of 5 subjects from the CA Sri Lanka Strategic Level and 3 subjects from the ICAEW Advanced Level.
