Musaeus in comfortable win

Marie Musaeus-Rohini Alles Challenge Trophy made way to Colombo 7 to take shelter at Musaeus College for the 3rd consecutive year when they scored a comfortable 40-18 victory over Gateway in the 3rd annual netball clash at the Gateway College courts yesterday.
Musaeus College outplayed Gateway in every department of the game in passing, shooting and defence. Even Sri Lanka junior national players Aneesha Perera and Vishmika Ratnayake failed to match the well organised Colombo lasses as they sailed smoothly to glory.
Led from the front by South Asian Games representative Randuli Subasinghe and the sisters combination of Dilmi and Nethmi Wijenayake manning the key positions of Goal Shoot and Goal Attack open the flood gates for the winners to find the net in every available occasion. Center Oneli Bambaranda too played a vital role in feeding the Wijenayake sisters with good passes which they made no mistake in scoring.
Poor shooting and disorganised defence and passing cost the Gateway missing the net in many occasions while Musaeus Wing Attack kept the forwards busy.
Gateway took 12-6 lead in the first quarter. They made it 25-9 in the second half.
In the last two quarters Musaeus found the net in every minute to lead 32-12 and 40-18 to walk away with the glittering champion trophy.
Gateway College Vishmika Ratnayake made a desperate attempt in defense to stop the rampaging Musaeus College was awarded the Best Defensive Player of the Match while skipper Randuli Subasinghe and Dilmi Wijenayake of Musaeus College were adjudged the Best Player and Best Shooter of the Match.
