The Most Emerging University in South Asia, SLTC, Expands 2020 Foreign Student Intake

Recently awarded as The Most Emerging University in South Asia (SAPS 2019), Sri Lanka Technological Campus has expanded the 2020 February international student intake in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Maldives by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on the 19th of December at the ministry premises. This marks an important milestone for the non-state educational industry in Sri Lanka, since it is for the first time in history that the Maldivian Higher Education Ministry has endorsed a non-state university in Sri Lanka as a recognieed higher education provider to the Maldivian student community. SLTC will be offering five full scholarships to deserving students nominated by the Ministry of Higher Education, Maldives, to complete their degrees in Sri Lanka.

The signing ceremony took place at Ministry of Higher Education of Maldives with the chieftainship of Honourable Minister of Higher Education of Maldives; Dr. Ibrahim Hussain, Honorable Minister of Higher Education Technology and Innovation, Sri Lanka; Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, State Minister of Higher Education, Maldives; Ms. Khadeeja Adam, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Maldives; Ms. Fathimath Hilmy, Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Maldives; Mr. K.W.N.D. Karunaratna, Founder/President of SLTC; Eng. Ranjith Rubasinghe and Director of International Affairs and Research at SLTC; Dr. Nanda Gunawardhana. It was followed by promising discussions on successfully executing and continuing this venture and further enhancing the partnerships between Maldives and Sri Lanka on the educational front.
