Vidyartha hold Zahira to thrilling draw
View(s):Vidyartha did not play in the Big League, but they showed by their display against Zahira that they would not have been out place in the A division.
At Nittawela yesterday, they held the visiting Zahira team, to a 24-all draw, after being led 14-10 at the break.
Both teams got their points through three goals and a penalty. Winger Jayakody (2) and fly half Kaluarachchi scored the tries. Kaluarachchi made the conversions. Zahira scored through props Mannapperuma and Fowmy and scrum half Iqbal. Salam added the extra points.
Referee Priya Suranga suffered a leg injury in the last minute of the first half. Sarath Madugalle replaced him for the second.
