Principal Allowance for ‘Acting’ Principals in SP
View(s):A ‘Principal Allowance’ would be granted to all ‘acting’ principals of schools in the Southern Province (SP) said SP Governor Keerthi Tennakoon.
Addressing a ceremony held in the SP Gov.’s Office, Mr Tennakoon said, “There are students who have come first in the island at the GCE Ordinary and Advanced Level exams from the SP. Our challenge is to maintain this standard and, for this, Teachers and Principals should be provided with the appropriate facilities to encourage them to perform their duties better.” More than 200 ‘Acting’ Principals in the Galle, Matara and Hambantota Districts have not been receiving any allowances for their period of service. In addition, there is an imbalance as well, in the number of Teachers serving in the Districts.
