The Ministry of Education (MoE) is to appoint 1,980 Principals to schools throughout the country to fill the shortage of principals.

The examinations have been held and the results are due next month.

In 2017, the Ministry recruited 3,900 Principals from the Provinces and appointed them to schools, but local government institutions objected and hence, they could not take over duties.

However, this time the recruitment will be made at National level and assigned to schools in the Provinces, where their appointments would have to be accepted.

The Government, in order to improve the quality of teaching, has to date trained some 1,000 Principals overseas.

Officials pointed out that obstructions to appoint principals would affect the functions of the schools. - DW
