The 15th Convocation ceremony of the CCS was held ceremoniously at the BMICH on the 25th of February 2019. The designation of Graduate chemist was awarded to 149 graduates who followed the Graduateship in Chemistry programme (GIC) and the designation of diplomates was awarded to 131 students who passed out from  the Diploma in Laboratory Technology (DLT) programme offered by our Institute. The Convocation address was delivered by Emeritus Professor Deshabandu Tuley de Silva who was a past president of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon and the Chancellor of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. The valedictory speech for the GIC programme was given by the Shireen Jayasooriya Memorial Gold Medalist for the year 2018, Ms. M. A. F Mushrifa and that of the DLT programme was conveyed by the first in the batch Ms. M. C Vidushani.  Mr. M. J. M Afnan was awarded the R. O. B Wijesekara award for the Best All rounder as well.
