CCC School of Cricket juniors return after triumphant Indian tour

The Under-12 and Under-13 teams of the CCC School of Cricket, the leading Cricket Coaching School in Sri Lanka, returned to the island after a successful tour of Dav Whatmore Centre for Cricket in Chennai, India recently.

The two teams were hosted by Dav Whatmore Centre, where the CCC boys underwent specialized training programmes conducted by Dav Whatmore himself associated by the Director of the Centre, Sanjay Mullesert. The youngsters went through specially designed training programmes on techniques, skills, coupled with lessons on physical and mental development on scientific basics which included swimming, indoor and outdoor training as well.

CCC Under-13s played eight matches, winning six and losing two. The Under-12 team also played eight matches and won five and lost three. The budding cricketers were pitted against the Whatmore Training Centre team, and Chennai Cricket Academy teams. They also played against two foreign teams from Oman and UAE.

Foreign exposure was a welcome experience for the CCC lads as all matches were played on turf wickets and locked horns with tough opposition.  – Lakshman Ranasinghe
