Stafford International School registered their second consecutive win in the annual cricket encounter

The second annual cricket encounter between British School In Colombo (BSC) and Stafford International School (SIS) was played at the R. Premadasa International cricket stadium on the 17th of February.

It was a glorious day for cricket with bright sunshine throughout the day. Batting first British School In Colombo (BSC) was in for an early setback as their last year centurion Rahul Chigullapalli was bowled by Avesh Polonowita for 8 runs.

BSC lost wickets at regular intervals. The only resistance came from Pradyun Saikia who scored 59  off 89 deliveries with nine hits to the ropes and one over.

BCS  was restricted to 113 runs in 37.4 overs. SIS bowling was spearheaded by the Captain Shiram Shyamsunder who captured three wickets for 22 runs while Shiven Jayarathna  2 for 21and Elesh Umagiliya captured two wickets for 8 runs.

SIS batting revolved around Pravan Williams who scored 53 runs in 68 deliveries with 5 fours and 5 sixes and the captain Shriram Shyamsunder 23 not out.

SIS batsmen scored the winning runs in 24.1 overs with seven wickets in hand to register back to back wins in the annual encounter.

The Stafford International team led by Shriram Shyamsunder comprised Sampras De Silva, Avesh Polonowita, Elesh Umagiliya, Mayukhe Peiris(wk), Ahamed Noordeen, Nadith Gunawardena, Pravan  Williams, Shiven Jayarathna, Jaden Christy and Prethan Ramesh

Subs: Tenushka Nanayakkara, Kehan Gunathilaka, Ashendra Bandaranaike, Abdul Kareem, Disal Fernando, Sanjay Rathnakumar, Pavan Rajavasan, Kavya Jayasinghe, Nadil Wellage.

The British School team led by Kavinda Subasinghe comprised, Rahul Chigullapalli (wk), Pradyun Saikia, Salman Akbarally, Dillon David, Senuka Dharmakeerthi, Vishinu Praveen, Thishan Kahandawalaarachchi, Theekshana Nawinne, Rashvin Senanayake and Aaryan Amlean .

Subs: Dilshan Premaratne, Akitha Gunadasa, Kavya Shukla, Thareen Gulawita, Sashreek Vijayakumar, Danika Nawinne, Sharin Jumadin, Siyath Srikanth, Nehan Mooneshinghe.
