CCC School of Cricket embark on 23rd foreign tour

C.C.C School of Cricket, the leading Cricket Coaching academy from Maitland Crescent Colombo, will embark on their 23rd foreign tour when their Under-12 and Under-13 cricket teams flew to Chennai, India, as guests of internationally famed CSS Whatmore Centre for Cricket based at Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai, last Friday.

Under-12 team: Hiruka Silva (Captain), Jaden Amraweera (VC), Dulnith Sigera, Kiran Perera, Tehan Bitar, Raeed Carriam, Himanka Sandamina, Talisha Nanayakkara, Thinuda Wettasinhe ,Gehan Dahanayake, Disara Ratugake, Reshon Solomons, Sabri Balendran, Hesela Liyanarachi, Nenuka Siriwardhana

The 7-day tour programme will include special training session on physical and mental skill development and indoor and outdoor cricket training with lectures on cricket psychology and nutrition etc. Training will be under direct supervision and world famous coach, Dav Whatmore the former Sri Lanka’s illustrious coach of the World Cup winning Sri Lanka team in 1996.

Last August, the CCC Under-13 team attended a similar programme according to Head Coach Nelson Mendis. Nelson Mendis went on to say ‘it was one of the best coaching programmes, the school underwent, which helped the school to produce some excellent results, team and individual wise.

CCC junior on tour will also be engaged in a few matchers against some foreign teams who are due to under so training at the centre and also with local team from Chennai.

Forty strong contingent of two team, and official will lead by Chief de Mission, Nelson Mendis while the Tour Manager assigned Yasantha Silva and Coach on tour Jamith Disanayaka will be the other chief officials.
