The Ceylon Teachers’ Union (CTU) has blamed the Examinations Department officials for the delay in distributing the GCE Ordinary Level examination question papers in two centres in the Ampara district.

CTU General secretary Joseph Stalin said that there was a delay in distributing the aesthetic studies question paper on Tuesday not only because of a mishap when the papers were being transported to Moneragala, but also because of the negligence of the officials.

It is learnt that around 300 students who sat the exam at Bandaranayake Girls school and D.S.Senanayake National school were inconvenienced because of the delay. The papers were scheduled to be distributed at 8.30 a.m. but were given to them only around 10.45 a.m. The Examinations Department said that it was investigating the matter. -CC
