Vidura students pay musical tribute to Amaradeva

Amara Gee Dehena, a musical miscellany remembering Sri Lankabhimanaya Pandit W. D. Amaradeva’s contribution to the development of Sinhala music, was held at the Hokandara Campus of the Vidura College recently. The event was organised by the Grade Nine students of the college under the guidance of Principal D.G. Sumanasekara.

Visharad Jagath Wickramasionghe graced the occasion as the chief guest. Songs were performed by the students of Grade 9 with the backing of the Grade 9 orchestra trained by music teacher Dilan Madushan. They were also assisted by Western teacher Buddhika Sampath. Principal of the Primary Section Somabandu Kodikara, Board Chairman Dr Ranjith Cabraal, Directors Sarada Sumanasekara and Indu Sumanasekara were also present.
