A DNA test is to be carried out to determine whether a decapitated head of a foreign woman found close to the Bolgoda bridge in Panadura belonged to the headless body found in Sevanagala, off Monaragala, police said yesterday, The head was discovered on Monday in a scrub jungle by an old woman who noticed a monitor trying to drag it away, according to the Bandragama Crime Division OIC K.J.N. Silva.

The woman had alerted a neighbour who informed the Police, A search by police divers to locate the rest of the body and any belongings proved futile. Meanwhile, Sevanagala police said that on the previous day a body minus its head and legs was found floating by a group of men fishing in a tank.
