Aretha Franklin songs expected to hit the charts

The fans of Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, who bid farewell on August 16, will have the opportunity to pay their final respects on August 28 and 29 at the Charles H. Wright Museum for African American History in Detroit, Michigan. A private funeral will be held on 31st August at the Greater Grace Temple. She will be entombed beside her father, sisters and nephew at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Her music is now sweeping across the US and UK and many other countries and expected to chart again over the weekend.

A concert venue of the Backstreet Boys was hit by a storm on 18th August injuring 14 fans according reports. The show at the Win Star World Casino & Resort in Oklahoma had to be cancelled as part of the venue structure collapsed.

Perrie Edwards of the group Little Mix has undergone surgery on her oesophagus. The singer took to social media on 16th August to inform her fans. The 25 year old has had an oesophagus problem from her childhood and had had surgery at an early age.

Grime star Stormzy is to launch a scholarship for Afro-Caribbean students at the Cambridge University. The scholarship will begin this year for two students from under privilege backgrounds and be extended to two more students in 2019. The Stormzy Scholarship will cover four years of the undergrads tuition and maintenance. The 25 year old stormed the music scene in 2015 with ‘Shut Up’ and then followed it up with ‘Big For Your Boots’ and ‘Blinded By Your Grace’ in 2017.

‘Shotgun’ by George Ezra is the UK’s No: 1 song once again. Five weeks since being toppled by ‘In My Feelings’ by Drake, Ezra’s song recaptured the No: 1 spot on the singles chart. During that five weeks ‘Shotgun’ remain unmoved at 2. The song had been at the top of the chart for two weeks when Drake’s ‘In My Feelings’ swept to the top spot. ‘Shotgun’ has been on the charts for 21 weeks. It began its journey at 35 before reaching the No: 1 spot. The pop track is the third single from Ezra’s album ‘Staying At Tamara’s. Ezra co-wrote the song with Joel Pott. Cam Blackwood produced the song.

Benny Blanco has set foot on the UK top 10 with ‘Eastside’. It’s the first song released by the 30 year old who has been previously remained behind the scene as a songwriter and producer. He has finally stepped forward to be an artist in his own right. However the vocals on the song are handled by Halsey and Khalid. The song has moved up the chart from 12 to land well inside the top 10 at 4. The award winning writer and producer has either co-written and co – produced hit songs for Katy Perry, Keisha, Tiao Cruz and Maroon 5. He has also produced or co-written 26 No:1 song s for artist such as Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Weeknd, Miguel, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello and others.
