The 125th encounter between Trinity and Royal at Asgiriya ended in a draw. But it was a draw with a difference.

Trinity’s hero was left armer Vimukthi Nethumal who ended with match figures of 10 for 45. The pitch seemed to be made to order for left armers, as Royal’s Manula Perera also ended up with a bag of 7 for 62.

Royal disappointed on one day one, totaling only 149. Trinity who has a lot of batting obtained a 24 run lead.
