The University of Kelaniya (UoK), along with National Dengue Control Unit and George Steuart Health (Pvt) Ltd. organised a Dengue awareness campaign among Kelaniya residents, recently.

Under the slogan ‘Let’s Start – Do and – finish Dengue’, the campaign was conducted on Saturday (15) to create a dialogue among the people, on how to manage household waste effectively and stop the spread of the disease.

Around 80 undergraduates of the UoK participated in the programme and distributed 30,000 leaflets among households in the Kelaniya area. The leaflet was a guide to cleaning up their environment and leading a healthy life.

Ministers, MPs and other volunteers participated. The UoK crew was led by Head of Dept of Human Resource Management, Dr D.U. Mohan, AHEAD Senior Treasurer Arjun De Silva and UoK Curator N.M. Aruna Shantha. - CC
