Athletes of Lyceum International Wattala dominate
View(s):Lyceum International School Wattala girls created history by winning the overall Girls Shield at the Western Province Athletic Meet 2017 held at Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Homagama. This is a significant achievement for an international school as it was the first time that an overall title was won by such an institute.
Lyceum International Wattala, who claimed 157 points overall, was well ahead of Ave Maria Convent Negombo, who collected 97 points. Holy Cross Convent Gamapaha finished third with 87 points.
Lyceum International Wattala was also awarded the Girls Under-18 and Under-20 Overall Championship as well as the Relay Overall Championships. Sachini Divyanjalee won the Under-18 Best Athlete Award for her achievement in the Girls’ 200metre . The boys of Lyceum International Wattala was placed third overall in the meet. - NA
