St. Anne’s Kurunegala advanced to the final of the Milo U20 Champions Trophy inter-schools rugby knockout tournament final when they record a thrilling two points (20-18) win over Moratu MV in the semi final encounter played in the morning session at the Sugathadasa Stadium yesterday.

The Annites came back with vengeance in the second half after Moratu MV was sitting pretty with a 18-5 lead at the breather as they made the only scoring in the second half whilst preventing their opponents to make any headway.

The Annites made up their scoring through four tries to the three tries and a penalty scored by Moratu MV. For the winners A. Singhabahu, K. Perera, C. Jayasundara and P. Gamage were the try scorers while P. Fernando two tries and S. Rumesh one were the try scorers for the losers with A. Niranjan booting over the penalty.

St. Anne’s will now meet the winners of second semi final between Thaduwa Buddhist MV and Carey scheduled to be played in the morning session today.          Referee – M. Hariff - MSA
