Pasindu Peiris and Gayan Sandaruwan came out on top at the Sixth Uda Walawa Supercross organised by the Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) in collaboration with Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club (SLMCC) while young Kushan Peiris set the track ablaze with three wins, which concluded at the Craftsman Autodrome Sevanagala in Uda Walawe.  The best driver and rider’s award was offered for the first time since the meet began in 2011. Pasindu who came back to the track after a lapse of four years won both the races of SL-GT up to 3500cc Supercar events while Gayan who was pushed to second place in the first race of the Racing Motocross Bikes over 100cc up to 125cc (2T) and 175cc up to 250cc (4T) event won the second event which was sufficient for him to bag the best riders award for the day.

Nineteen-year-old Kushan Peiris who missed out on a triple last year fulfilled his wishes this time and became the first ever driver to win three events in this track.  Kushan won two of his three events having pushed the experience Upulwan Serasinghe to the second spot and this is the second time that Kushan has achieved the feat of winning three events with the first being at the Foxhil Supercross in Diyatalawa.  The other successful performances came in the motor bike category where four riders Nihal Wijeratne, Imal Manchanayake, Kasen Silva and Evond Gurusinghe ended up with two wins each.  But it was a disappointing day for the current top driver and rider Ushan Perera who was making his debut run in this track and Ishan Dasanayake who won two races last year in this meet as they were unable to win any events.
