Talented dancer Johannes Madawela, who shot to fame with performance as the main peacock in veteran dance maestro Chandana Wickremasinghe’s ‘Mayura Sandeshaya’ ballet, recently launched his own dance troupe titled ‘J Dancers’ at a ceremony held at the Russian Cultural Centre.
An old boy of Kingswood College, Johannes launched his website – www.jdancers.com during the event. It was ceremoniously launched by his mother Mrs. Ruby Madawela.

Johannes’ dance guru Chandana Wickremasinghe who had moulded him into a professional dancer graced the event as the Chief Guest to wish his disciple good luck in his new endeavour. The event was spiced with two lively dance acts – ‘Dreams of Apsaras’ and ‘Desert Queens’.

Johannes also took advantage of the event to express his gratitude to those who had helped him, by way of presenting them with special plaques embossed with words of gratitude.
