The Education Minister vowed on January 21 that he will work with dedication, in order to provide solutions to the problems faced by the people. Though it was the first people’s day of the newly appointed minister, a large crowd was gathered to meet him.

The Minister said that the Government will fulfill its promise of good governance. He said that it is a right of the people to have their problems solved.

He asked the public gathered to firstly approach officials regarding matters, and approach him if they are unable to resolve their issues.
He stated that, although officials under previous governments were constrained due to political interference, the current Government encourages all officers to do all that is possible to solve the issues of the people.

Addressing a current issue at the conclusion, the minister said that he will look into the accusations leveled against school principals.
“A circular will be issued to all principals after discussions with the Ministry Secretary,” he said.
