The inaugural TRT Mixed-Collegiate and Inter-Batch Cricket 6s organised by the past students of Trinity, Royal and S. Thomas’ colleges, who are known as the TRT Group, will be held at the CH&FC grounds in Maitland Crescent today.

This one-of-a-kind tournament is organised to further enrich and foster the camaraderie enjoyed amongst the fraternities of the three well recognised institutions of Sri Lanka. The novelty of the tournament is the requirement to field at least one player from all three colleges in each participating team competing in the Mixed-Batch league.

Accordingly teams combining players from Trinity, Royal and S. Thomas’ batch groups will play in one team competing against other such combined batch groups. In addition to the main event, this will also be an occasion for the TRT families and friends to enjoy a fun-filled day of activity.

Ever since the formation of TRT Group, the concept has been fast gaining momentum, primarily for the forum it creates for those of these fraternities to meet, greet and mingle amongst its inter-collegiate peers in lighthearted social environs, which gathering includes many distinguished old boys of the three schools.

The project is conducted under the supervision of Nahil Wijesuriya (Trinity), Chandresa Abhayaratne (Royal) and Dr. Nalin Jayasuriya (S. Thomas’) who are Joint Co-Chairmen of the Group. All proceeds are to be utilized towards charitable purposes.
