Havelocks and CH & FC – two teams who suffered heart wrenching defeats last weekend take on each other in their first round fixture of the Dialog Sponsored ‘A’ Division club rugby encounter under lights at Havelock Park commencing at 6pm this evening.

Havelocks who suffered two setbacks at the hands of CR and Kandy will have to play with purpose if they are to overcome a completely regrouped CH outfit this year. CH on the other hand who started off with a bang with a handsome win over the Airmen lost a crucial game to Army 17/15 in a match that they should have won.

The lads from Havelock Park have what it takes to thump any side this season. However in order to that, they will have to play as one purposeful unit like they did in the second half of their opening game against Police to register a come from behind win.

Die hard Havies spectators hope that this will perhaps be the game where their side who are studded with some brilliant individual players may finally click together to play as one team.

Shehan Pathirana, Mithun Hapugoda and Sandun Herath who all crossed Kandy’s line last week will have to put up some brilliant moves again this evening and hope against all hope that their defence does not crumble like it did to lose in Kandy last week.

For CH Rimzi Jamaldeen has been accurate with some brilliant kicks to get them on the scoreboard, However skipper Radeesha Seneviratne will require his entire side to further kick on and click together under lights if they are to pull off a win this evening. – MDF
